Comment: We had a beautiful condo with fantastic, unobstructed views of the ocean. The wrap- around deck was large and made the whole condo very airy and open. The interior furnishings were very up to date and comfortable. Kitchen appliances were very nice. My only negative comment would be that there was no dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, tissues, etc. that really should be provided. (They have been in every other rental in the past.) I think guests are happy to take care of a place if they are given the tools to do so. We also put a lightbulb in the porch light so we could see to unlock the door when we came home after dark.

Comment: The unit was exceptionally beautiful, quiet, awesome view, and a wonderful lanai. The surrounding facilities were nice. We only used the bbq, the pool looked nice, but we were too busy snorkleing to get in to it. Small shopping center near by with grocery store and movie theater. The only negative comment I have it the washer and dryer were inefficient (it would be nice if they upgraded them). I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. The snorkeling was really good at Kahulu'u beach. It is crowded, but the fish and turtles are 1 foot from you and are in great abundance. Another Puanaunua (I think this is spelled right) next to the "Place of Refuge" was another really neat spot for snorkeling. We swam with the spinner dolphins and the coral reefs was just awesome. Greenwell Coffee Farm has some really good Kona coffee and a nice little tour. We hope to return soon. Aloha.

Comment: This condo was hot even though we had the fans running at all times. We even had to bring an additional fan from my niece's house. The back bedroom was basically useless. We had four fans running and it was still unbearably hot and the windows did not open in that room. I would not stay in this condo again unless it had air conditioning. Comment: Great location near snorkel beach. Needs some attention to ongoing maintenance but overall the condo is nice. If you live in a cool climate, do not visit here in the summer. There was not enough breeze to cool off the condo until well into the night and there is no A/C. Great views of sunset and ocean from the lanai.

Comment: We were pleasantly surprised with this condo. It's on a beautiful stretch of rocky coastline, with great views from the main living area and master bedroom. It's very spacious, with a great layout. While the home was built 20-30 years ago, much of it has been updated recently, including the kitchen and bathrooms (both with granite counters, etc). It's an incredible value for the price. The only downside to the location is that it's a bit of a drive to a decent beach (North of the Airport). The condo pool was very nice however, and there is great snorkeling and surfing just a quarter mile to the North. While the home was generally quite nice, there were a few minor things I'm hoping management can resolve. The dryer vents into the bathroom, not outdoors, which is a bit odd in a tropical climate and was causing some moisture damage in the recently remodeled bathroom. There is an exterior dryer vent, so this fix would only take a few minutes with a screw driver. Also, some of the towels reeked of cigarette smoke - our guess was that a housekeeper took them home to wash in a house where they smoke indoors. Not a big deal, as we just washed them prior to using them, but this seems like something that could easily be resolved. Despite these two minor issues, it was our favorite vacation rental of all those we’ve stayed in, and was an incredible value for the price.

Comment: If you are considering staying here, but are not convinced it! The pictures do not do this property justice. The complex is quiet and immaculate. You fall asleep at night with only ocean noise. No cars,parties or loud music to diturb your rest. The lanai is huge and offers unobstructed views of the Pacific and many whale sightings.The pool and tennis courts where never crowded during our two week stay.The condo was clean,well supplied and relaxing. Enjoy the best sunsets in the World!

Comment: We really enjoyed our stay at the kona surf and raquet. This specific condo had an amazing ocean front view with splashing waves. The location was nice and close to grocery store shopping. A few mins away drive from a nice snorkelling beach. Only 10 min drive into downtown kona. In our unit our fridge was broken. We called mgmt and they quickly had a repair man at the unit to fix it...works fine now. Only thing we did not enjoy was the lack of elevator. This unit is on 2nd floor and has lots of stairs. This was only magnified as we were travelling wity a small baby and were hauling baby gear around. Otherwise we loved the nicely updated unit with a beautiful view. Would recomend it.

Comment: My two adult kids, my husband and I spent 8 nights at Hale Nui Ohu Condo. We all loved it. The condo is very close of ocean, with a fantastic view. The Lanai is very large. The beds are confortable. The kitchen is full equiped. The breeze from the ocean helps keep a comfortable temperature inside the condo. Grocery, restaurants, cinema and store are within a walking distance. We would return anytime.

Beautiful Hawaiian Condo Escape

Comment: The unit was exceptionally beautiful, quiet, awesome view, and a wonderful lanai. The surrounding facilities were nice. We only used the bbq, the pool looked nice, but we were too busy snorkleing to get in to it. Small shopping center near by with grocery store and movie theater. The only negative comment I have it the washer and dryer were inefficient (it would be nice if they upgraded them). I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. The snorkeling was really good at Kahulu'u beach. It is crowded, but the fish and turtles are 1 foot from you and are in great abundance. Another Puanaunua (I think this is spelled right) next to the "Place of Refuge" was another really neat spot for snorkeling. We swam with the spinner dolphins and the coral reefs was just awesome. Greenwell Coffee Farm has some really good Kona coffee and a nice little tour. We hope to return soon. Aloha.

Comment: Condo was lovely - as nice as pictures and very well equipped - did not need AC - having the fans in bedrooms was enough and breezes were great - loved learning Hawaiian history of property. Next time might opt for 3rd floor and on site management needs to reinforce no smoking on grounds, lanais, and units. Views magnificent and grounds well kept and secure. Will return.

Comment: My two adult kids, my husband and I spent 8 nights at Hale Nui Ohu Condo. We all loved it. The condo is very close of ocean, with a fantastic view. The Lanai is very large. The beds are confortable. The kitchen is full equiped. The breeze from the ocean helps keep a comfortable temperature inside the condo. Grocery, restaurants, cinema and store are within a walking distance. We would return anytime.

Comment: This condo was hot even though we had the fans running at all times. We even had to bring an additional fan from my niece's house. The back bedroom was basically useless. We had four fans running and it was still unbearably hot and the windows did not open in that room. I would not stay in this condo again unless it had air conditioning. Comment: Great location near snorkel beach. Needs some attention to ongoing maintenance but overall the condo is nice. If you live in a cool climate, do not visit here in the summer. There was not enough breeze to cool off the condo until well into the night and there is no A/C. Great views of sunset and ocean from the lanai.

Comment: The condo was lovely. I thought it was surface-clean, but could have been cleaner. I would have liked more info about the complex, e.g. a map showing the pool, etc., with explanation that a key was needed to enter and leave the pool.The key on one ring did not work at the pool. Also, we had a hard time finding the unit at night. Directions were excellent to the complex from the airport, but very poor once we were inside the gate. Negatives aside, it was a lovely place, and I would definitely return, and recommend it highly.

Comment: We had a beautiful condo with fantastic, unobstructed views of the ocean. The wrap- around deck was large and made the whole condo very airy and open. The interior furnishings were very up to date and comfortable. Kitchen appliances were very nice. My only negative comment would be that there was no dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, tissues, etc. that really should be provided. (They have been in every other rental in the past.) I think guests are happy to take care of a place if they are given the tools to do so. We also put a lightbulb in the porch light so we could see to unlock the door when we came home after dark.

Comment: We were pleasantly surprised with this condo. It's on a beautiful stretch of rocky coastline, with great views from the main living area and master bedroom. It's very spacious, with a great layout. While the home was built 20-30 years ago, much of it has been updated recently, including the kitchen and bathrooms (both with granite counters, etc). It's an incredible value for the price. The only downside to the location is that it's a bit of a drive to a decent beach (North of the Airport). The condo pool was very nice however, and there is great snorkeling and surfing just a quarter mile to the North. While the home was generally quite nice, there were a few minor things I'm hoping management can resolve. The dryer vents into the bathroom, not outdoors, which is a bit odd in a tropical climate and was causing some moisture damage in the recently remodeled bathroom. There is an exterior dryer vent, so this fix would only take a few minutes with a screw driver. Also, some of the towels reeked of cigarette smoke - our guess was that a housekeeper took them home to wash in a house where they smoke indoors. Not a big deal, as we just washed them prior to using them, but this seems like something that could easily be resolved. Despite these two minor issues, it was our favorite vacation rental of all those we’ve stayed in, and was an incredible value for the price.

Comment: If you are considering staying here, but are not convinced it! The pictures do not do this property justice. The complex is quiet and immaculate. You fall asleep at night with only ocean noise. No cars,parties or loud music to diturb your rest. The lanai is huge and offers unobstructed views of the Pacific and many whale sightings.The pool and tennis courts where never crowded during our two week stay.The condo was clean,well supplied and relaxing. Enjoy the best sunsets in the World!

Comment: We really enjoyed our stay at the kona surf and raquet. This specific condo had an amazing ocean front view with splashing waves. The location was nice and close to grocery store shopping. A few mins away drive from a nice snorkelling beach. Only 10 min drive into downtown kona. In our unit our fridge was broken. We called mgmt and they quickly had a repair man at the unit to fix it...works fine now. Only thing we did not enjoy was the lack of elevator. This unit is on 2nd floor and has lots of stairs. This was only magnified as we were travelling wity a small baby and were hauling baby gear around. Otherwise we loved the nicely updated unit with a beautiful view. Would recomend it.
