Comment: Lovely two bedroom condo. Extremely clean. Fantastic ocean view. Very nice landscape, lots of tropical birds. Good swimming pool. Only misstep was a plumbing problem that took three days to resolve because of unusual low flush toilet. Other than that, no complaints.complaints.

Comment: We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to the Big Island and the stay in unit 4301 at Surf and Racquet was fantastic. I had a chance to peek into several ground floor units that were unoccupied and many were tired and dated. This unit was modern, particularly the kitchen, very clean and had great amenities. There were a few items that were broken and we simply replaced them. I contacted Anna Marie and they offered to reimburse us on the spot. Our only issue and this is being from AZ in the desert, is that the unit has no air conditioning. We had to buy a couple of fans to cool the rooms down which did help. We have stayed in Hawaii before and should have looked at or asked about air conditioning. It would have been a nice convenience to have. Regardless of that, we will stay in this unit again. Very quiet, nice, well maintained, and a great location. Being near the shopping center and Long's Drugs was also very convenient. furniture.

Comment: Generally a very nice unit, however we found it very unusual that there was no stereo CD system. The DVD player associated with the TV had poor sound quality and couldn't be heard on the lanai. Also, a few cleaning items would have been helpful i.e. rags, sponge mop/ swiffer. We enjoyed our stay.

Comment: Property was very nice with a great view. It would have been nice in May to have air conditioning. I split this property with my brother and sister in law, and since the reservation was in my name, they didn't get an email with all the rules. We arrived at different times and they didn't know about the 75.00 early check in fee. The on-site attendant let them into the condo but didn't mention the extra cost. They could have very easily hung out in town a couple hours and waited for me. But overall the facility itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. We were in Hawaii for a university graduation, and spent most of our time with family, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool or other amenities.

Comment: Great location, great appartment. Highly recommended. We only had two issues with the property management: 1) We were unable to reach anybody from the management. There were no instructions on how to use the wireless network and no keyes to the pool. We tried to call the management, but they did not respond, neither returned calls. We found workarounds, so we were fine, but one would expect better responsivness. 2) After we left we were incorrectly charged for excess laundry. It took number of calls to get it sorted out and eventually we were refunded, but again, this could have been easier (or should not have happened in the first place). Still, those two incidents were fairly minor compared to the overall experience, which was great!

Comment: great stay at the s&r 4301. unbiased review from a business traveller usually travelling 5-star etc. the condo is located on the 3rd floor of a waterfront complex. the layout is very airy with both a nice corner lanai as well as a sitting area enclosed by screens. its clear the owner put lots of effort into decorating the place; there is a real home-like feel vs staying in a hotel and i was sufficiently relaxed just hanging out in the place. the nice kitchen was well used during the trip and all utensils were provided and the layout lended itself to a high level of intereaction between cook and guests (if you have any). the only feedback items is that the unit is so close to the water that you can hear the waves crashing, which can get quite loud on higher surf / windier days. otherwise- great place!

Comment: Had absolutely no problems, RIGHT on the ocean as pictured, we did not want to leave the lanai. Third floor with no elevator was hard to begin and end our stay but we took it slow. Being on the top floor the condo had vaulted ceilings and that also was AWESOME. SO many rules they scared us. Rentals always have broken, but hidden by previous guests, things and we were so afraid we'd be charged for them. Our next condo rental on Maui was oceanview too but NO rules. We nevdidn't feel we had to spend our time constantly cleaning like at Kona, and even left a little (not excessive) sand on the floor and didn't sweat it. You DO pay for cleaning! We WOULD recommend it to friends.

Comment: Our unit was lovely and very clean. Our only complaint was that I couldn't connect to the internet--signal too weak. I called and left a message, then called again 2 days later. Because I was working while in Hawaii,I ended up going to the Sheraton and paying 12.95 for 24 hr access (2 days). Later, I learned from a maintenance man, that everyone goes to the pool to connect--this worked. This was frustrating because I checked to make sure our rental would have internet connection.

Comment: The condo is updated, spacious and beautiful, the view breath-taking. There is no a/c so it gets warm. We were very comfortable there and only had a few very minor inconveniences that only slightly affected us - all of which would take very little money for the owners to correct: loud, inexpensive portable fan we moved from the living room to the bedroom at nights; old, inexpensive, useless blender (and our dream was to make blender drinks, sigh); the screen doors are old/rusting and very hard to slide without coming off the rails each time - understandable w/ the salt in the air.) Again...beautiful place...comfy beds, nice and functional bathrooms, amazing kitchen, comfortable sitting areas. We would go back (if they get a new blender.) :-)

Comment: Beautiful location and condo, with very well equipped kitchen. You will want to stay in for your evening meals, because the view of the sunset from the balcony is amazing. On the downside, bed in Master bedroom was hard as a rock, and quite uncomfortable. Property management should also make sure that they leave more than one roll of toilet paper per bathroom during a stay.

Comment: 4-301 is attractively decorated. Kitchen had everything we needed. The vaulted ceilings on 3rd floor are nice feature. Wi-fi worked great. We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins, crashing waves and sunsets from our main lanai. Building 4 is angled so it only gets direct sun in late afternoon. This angle also means there is not much view from the screened portion of wrap-around lanai. The room stays (relatively) cool during day and night. A/C is not needed. We'd stay here again, because we don't mind stairs (there is no elevator.) If you like to frequent the swimming pool you'd be better located in building #1.

Comment: We stayed 8 days- I thought they maybe could have left us more than one roll of TP, no d/w soap,not a single starter pack of coffee and no laundry detergent and LOTS of rules. They tell you that "onsite management will be watching you" which is kind of creepy and I spent 3 hours before we left cleaning EVERYTHING so as not to ensure further charges. The condo and community are beautiful, wonderful views, I would stay in the facility again but maybe with a different property management company. However, this condo is amazingly decorated, had every ammenity (coffee grinders, kitchenware etc) and we enjoyed our stay except for the mild paranoia :)

Comment: We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to the Big Island and the stay in unit 4301 at Surf and Racquet was fantastic. I had a chance to peek into several ground floor units that were unoccupied and many were tired and dated. This unit was modern, particularly the kitchen, very clean and had great amenities. There were a few items that were broken and we simply replaced them. I contacted Anna Marie and they offered to reimburse us on the spot. Our only issue and this is being from AZ in the desert, is that the unit has no air conditioning. We had to buy a couple of fans to cool the rooms down which did help. We have stayed in Hawaii before and should have looked at or asked about air conditioning. It would have been a nice convenience to have. Regardless of that, we will stay in this unit again. Very quiet, nice, well maintained, and a great location. Being near the shopping center and Long's Drugs was also very convenient. furniture.

I split this property with my brother and sister in law, and since the reservation was in my name, they didn't get an email with all the rules. We arrived at different times and they didn't know about the 75.00 early check in fee. The on-site attendant let them into the condo but didn't mention the extra cost. They could have very easily hung out in town a couple hours and waited for me. But overall the facility itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. We were in Hawaii for a university graduation, and spent most of our time with family, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool or other amenities.

Comment: We stayed 8 days- I thought they maybe could have left us more than one roll of TP, no d/w soap,not a single starter pack of coffee and no laundry detergent and LOTS of rules. They tell you that "onsite management will be watching you" which is kind of creepy and I spent 3 hours before we left cleaning EVERYTHING so as not to ensure further charges. The condo and community are beautiful, wonderful views, I would stay in the facility again but maybe with a different property management company. However, this condo is amazingly decorated, had every ammenity (coffee grinders, kitchenware etc) and we enjoyed our stay except for the mild paranoia :)

Comment: Great location, great appartment. Highly recommended. We only had two issues with the property management: 1) We were unable to reach anybody from the management. There were no instructions on how to use the wireless network and no keyes to the pool. We tried to call the management, but they did not respond, neither returned calls. We found workarounds, so we were fine, but one would expect better responsivness. 2) After we left we were incorrectly charged for excess laundry. It took number of calls to get it sorted out and eventually we were refunded, but again, this could have been easier (or should not have happened in the first place). Still, those two incidents were fairly minor compared to the overall experience, which was great!

Comment: great stay at the s&r 4301. unbiased review from a business traveller usually travelling 5-star etc. the condo is located on the 3rd floor of a waterfront complex. the layout is very airy with both a nice corner lanai as well as a sitting area enclosed by screens. its clear the owner put lots of effort into decorating the place; there is a real home-like feel vs staying in a hotel and i was sufficiently relaxed just hanging out in the place. the nice kitchen was well used during the trip and all utensils were provided and the layout lended itself to a high level of intereaction between cook and guests (if you have any). the only feedback items is that the unit is so close to the water that you can hear the waves crashing, which can get quite loud on higher surf / windier days. otherwise- great place!

Being on the top floor the condo had vaulted ceilings and that also was AWESOME. SO many rules they scared us. Rentals always have broken, but hidden by previous guests, things and we were so afraid we'd be charged for them. Our next condo rental on Maui was oceanview too but NO rules. We nevdidn't feel we had to spend our time constantly cleaning like at Kona, and even left a little (not excessive) sand on the floor and didn't sweat it. You DO pay for cleaning! We WOULD recommend it to friends.

Because I was working while in Hawaii,I ended up going to the Sheraton and paying 12.95 for 24 hr access (2 days). Later, I learned from a maintenance man, that everyone goes to the pool to connect--this worked. This was frustrating because I checked to make sure our rental would have internet connection.

We were very comfortable there and only had a few very minor inconveniences that only slightly affected us - all of which would take very little money for the owners to correct: loud, inexpensive portable fan we moved from the living room to the bedroom at nights; old, inexpensive, useless blender (and our dream was to make blender drinks, sigh); the screen doors are old/rusting and very hard to slide without coming off the rails each time - understandable w/ the salt in the air.) Again...beautiful place...comfy beds, nice and functional bathrooms, amazing kitchen, comfortable sitting areas. We would go back (if they get a new blender.) :-)

I split this property with my brother and sister in law, and since the reservation was in my name, they didn't get an email with all the rules. We arrived at different times and they didn't know about the 75.00 early check in fee. The on-site attendant let them into the condo but didn't mention the extra cost. They could have very easily hung out in town a couple hours and waited for me. But overall the facility itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. We were in Hawaii for a university graduation, and spent most of our time with family, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool or other amenities.

Comment: Great location, great appartment. Highly recommended. We only had two issues with the property management: 1) We were unable to reach anybody from the management. There were no instructions on how to use the wireless network and no keyes to the pool. We tried to call the management, but they did not respond, neither returned calls. We found workarounds, so we were fine, but one would expect better responsivness. 2) After we left we were incorrectly charged for excess laundry. It took number of calls to get it sorted out and eventually we were refunded, but again, this could have been easier (or should not have happened in the first place). Still, those two incidents were fairly minor compared to the overall experience, which was great!

Comment: great stay at the s&r 4301. unbiased review from a business traveller usually travelling 5-star etc. the condo is located on the 3rd floor of a waterfront complex. the layout is very airy with both a nice corner lanai as well as a sitting area enclosed by screens. its clear the owner put lots of effort into decorating the place; there is a real home-like feel vs staying in a hotel and i was sufficiently relaxed just hanging out in the place. the nice kitchen was well used during the trip and all utensils were provided and the layout lended itself to a high level of intereaction between cook and guests (if you have any). the only feedback items is that the unit is so close to the water that you can hear the waves crashing, which can get quite loud on higher surf / windier days. otherwise- great place!

Comment: Had absolutely no problems, RIGHT on the ocean as pictured, we did not want to leave the lanai. Third floor with no elevator was hard to begin and end our stay but we took it slow. Being on the top floor the condo had vaulted ceilings and that also was AWESOME. SO many rules they scared us. Rentals always have broken, but hidden by previous guests, things and we were so afraid we'd be charged for them. Our next condo rental on Maui was oceanview too but NO rules. We nevdidn't feel we had to spend our time constantly cleaning like at Kona, and even left a little (not excessive) sand on the floor and didn't sweat it. You DO pay for cleaning! We WOULD recommend it to friends.

Comment: Our unit was lovely and very clean. Our only complaint was that I couldn't connect to the internet--signal too weak. I called and left a message, then called again 2 days later. Because I was working while in Hawaii,I ended up going to the Sheraton and paying 12.95 for 24 hr access (2 days). Later, I learned from a maintenance man, that everyone goes to the pool to connect--this worked. This was frustrating because I checked to make sure our rental would have internet connection.

We were very comfortable there and only had a few very minor inconveniences that only slightly affected us - all of which would take very little money for the owners to correct: loud, inexpensive portable fan we moved from the living room to the bedroom at nights; old, inexpensive, useless blender (and our dream was to make blender drinks, sigh); the screen doors are old/rusting and very hard to slide without coming off the rails each time - understandable w/ the salt in the air.) Again...beautiful place...comfy beds, nice and functional bathrooms, amazing kitchen, comfortable sitting areas. We would go back (if they get a new blender.) :-)

We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins, crashing waves and sunsets from our main lanai. Building 4 is angled so it only gets direct sun in late afternoon. This angle also means there is not much view from the screened portion of wrap-around lanai. The room stays (relatively) cool during day and night. A/C is not needed. We'd stay here again, because we don't mind stairs (there is no elevator.) If you like to frequent the swimming pool you'd be better located in building #1.

Comment: We stayed 8 days- I thought they maybe could have left us more than one roll of TP, no d/w soap,not a single starter pack of coffee and no laundry detergent and LOTS of rules. They tell you that "onsite management will be watching you" which is kind of creepy and I spent 3 hours before we left cleaning EVERYTHING so as not to ensure further charges. The condo and community are beautiful, wonderful views, I would stay in the facility again but maybe with a different property management company. However, this condo is amazingly decorated, had every ammenity (coffee grinders, kitchenware etc) and we enjoyed our stay except for the mild paranoia :)

Comment: We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to the Big Island and the stay in unit 4301 at Surf and Racquet was fantastic. I had a chance to peek into several ground floor units that were unoccupied and many were tired and dated. This unit was modern, particularly the kitchen, very clean and had great amenities. There were a few items that were broken and we simply replaced them. I contacted Anna Marie and they offered to reimburse us on the spot. Our only issue and this is being from AZ in the desert, is that the unit has no air conditioning. We had to buy a couple of fans to cool the rooms down which did help. We have stayed in Hawaii before and should have looked at or asked about air conditioning. It would have been a nice convenience to have. Regardless of that, we will stay in this unit again. Very quiet, nice, well maintained, and a great location. Being near the shopping center and Long's Drugs was also very convenient. furniture.

Comment: Generally a very nice unit, however we found it very unusual that there was no stereo CD system. The DVD player associated with the TV had poor sound quality and couldn't be heard on the lanai. Also, a few cleaning items would have been helpful i.e. rags, sponge mop/ swiffer. We enjoyed our stay.

Comment: Property was very nice with a great view. It would have been nice in May to have air conditioning. I split this property with my brother and sister in law, and since the reservation was in my name, they didn't get an email with all the rules. We arrived at different times and they didn't know about the 75.00 early check in fee. The on-site attendant let them into the condo but didn't mention the extra cost. They could have very easily hung out in town a couple hours and waited for me. But overall the facility itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. We were in Hawaii for a university graduation, and spent most of our time with family, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool or other amenities.

Comment: Great location, great appartment. Highly recommended. We only had two issues with the property management: 1) We were unable to reach anybody from the management. There were no instructions on how to use the wireless network and no keyes to the pool. We tried to call the management, but they did not respond, neither returned calls. We found workarounds, so we were fine, but one would expect better responsivness. 2) After we left we were incorrectly charged for excess laundry. It took number of calls to get it sorted out and eventually we were refunded, but again, this could have been easier (or should not have happened in the first place). Still, those two incidents were fairly minor compared to the overall experience, which was great!

Comment: great stay at the s&r 4301. unbiased review from a business traveller usually travelling 5-star etc. the condo is located on the 3rd floor of a waterfront complex. the layout is very airy with both a nice corner lanai as well as a sitting area enclosed by screens. its clear the owner put lots of effort into decorating the place; there is a real home-like feel vs staying in a hotel and i was sufficiently relaxed just hanging out in the place. the nice kitchen was well used during the trip and all utensils were provided and the layout lended itself to a high level of intereaction between cook and guests (if you have any). the only feedback items is that the unit is so close to the water that you can hear the waves crashing, which can get quite loud on higher surf / windier days. otherwise- great place!

Comment: Had absolutely no problems, RIGHT on the ocean as pictured, we did not want to leave the lanai. Third floor with no elevator was hard to begin and end our stay but we took it slow. Being on the top floor the condo had vaulted ceilings and that also was AWESOME. SO many rules they scared us. Rentals always have broken, but hidden by previous guests, things and we were so afraid we'd be charged for them. Our next condo rental on Maui was oceanview too but NO rules. We nevdidn't feel we had to spend our time constantly cleaning like at Kona, and even left a little (not excessive) sand on the floor and didn't sweat it. You DO pay for cleaning! We WOULD recommend it to friends.

Comment: Our unit was lovely and very clean. Our only complaint was that I couldn't connect to the internet--signal too weak. I called and left a message, then called again 2 days later. Because I was working while in Hawaii,I ended up going to the Sheraton and paying 12.95 for 24 hr access (2 days). Later, I learned from a maintenance man, that everyone goes to the pool to connect--this worked. This was frustrating because I checked to make sure our rental would have internet connection.

Comment: The condo is updated, spacious and beautiful, the view breath-taking. There is no a/c so it gets warm. We were very comfortable there and only had a few very minor inconveniences that only slightly affected us - all of which would take very little money for the owners to correct: loud, inexpensive portable fan we moved from the living room to the bedroom at nights; old, inexpensive, useless blender (and our dream was to make blender drinks, sigh); the screen doors are old/rusting and very hard to slide without coming off the rails each time - understandable w/ the salt in the air.) Again...beautiful place...comfy beds, nice and functional bathrooms, amazing kitchen, comfortable sitting areas. We would go back (if they get a new blender.) :-)

Comment: We stayed 8 days- I thought they maybe could have left us more than one roll of TP, no d/w soap,not a single starter pack of coffee and no laundry detergent and LOTS of rules. They tell you that "onsite management will be watching you" which is kind of creepy and I spent 3 hours before we left cleaning EVERYTHING so as not to ensure further charges. The condo and community are beautiful, wonderful views, I would stay in the facility again but maybe with a different property management company. However, this condo is amazingly decorated, had every ammenity (coffee grinders, kitchenware etc) and we enjoyed our stay except for the mild paranoia :)
